To operate the shade you simple pull it down or push it up. It can stop at any point on the window as you pull it up or down.

The main thing to consider is that you have to be able to physically reach the shade to pull it down, so it’s not the best solution for a tall window or a window behind furniture like a couch. Also, it can be confusing to guests who may pull it incorrectly. However, so long as the fabric isn’t too thick, the handle can be placed on the bottom seam or there can be a lift tab that can be attached and peek out from the bottom to give hints to guests as to how to operate it. The nice thing is it’s one of the least expensive and most sleek options out there.
