Why Working with a Small Custom Workroom Creates Better High-End Projects

There are times when a large commercial workroom may be the right choice for a fast, basic drapery, but a small, local workroom will always deliver a better result on your luxury window treatments in the end.

One-on-one Attention

With a small local workroom you and your project will get one-on-one attention. There is no going back and forth between a receptionist or customer service representative and the hands that are making the treatment. You will have the attention of a knowledgeable sewist who can answer your specific questions about your project.

Involvement at the Start

As a small local workroom owner, I can work alongside you from the very beginning. I love working with you from the start of your creative process. I can be there for consultation and questions from the time I go with you to measure a project to when you are rounding down fabric choices and would like an opinion about how they will work out. Yardage requirements will be specific to the fabric you select, and as a full service workroom, you can send me the fabric, or I can order it for you. Designers can spend their time designing, while the workroom can help identify roadblocks or challenges to be considered in the process.

Handmade, Not Big Machinery

In large commercial workrooms, the human touch is sometimes left behind in the quick assembly-line processes they use. At Cozy Giraffe, your project will be given individual attention and details will not be overlooked. Each detail will be handled with care. Shades will be measured throughout the process. Drapery will be fan folded by hand once completed. Pillows will be stuffed into their covers with care. Everything will be made with the care and attention of a human (yours truly) not a machine.

Going Beyond the Basics

A small, local custom workroom means truly custom work, not semi-custom that is forced to fit on an order form. You can convey to me exactly what you want and I will fill out my work order so I can create what you are envisioning. I will ask questions if anything is not clear. I will cover all the bases so you don’t have to. Nothing will get left off, nothing will be left up to chance or the hopes that the fabricator will see your little note about how you want it to look.
